SBA Portfolio Manager
Full Time
Provides support to internal partners with the servicing/portfolio management of commercial Government Guaranteed loans to ensure compliance with specific government guidelines and bank lending policies and practices. Perform portfolio management activities including scheduled loan reviews, renewals, and modifications of SBA 7a loans. Responsible for maintaining and adhering to credit quality goals established for the portfolio. Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined.

Responsibilities
- Portfolio Management & Risk Monitoring
- Manage a portfolio of SBA 7(a) loans.
- Conduct annual reviews and risk rating updates, identifying and responding to loan defaults
- Maintains on-going financial analysis of individual SBA relationships and communicates any material changes that are noted in financial/cash flow analysis and makes recommendations for increased loan monitoring.
- Monitor financial performance, compliance, and collateral adequacy.
- Review borrower financial statements and tax returns.
- Identify early warning signs and proactively address potential credit deterioration.
- SBA Compliance & Servicing
- Ensure servicing actions comply with current SBA SOP guidelines.
- Take appropriate action with proper communication on loans not in compliance, are past due, or exhibiting financial performance weaknesses. Reviews current account status, to include but not limited to, Past Due accounts and Notes Matured. Makes appropriate recommendations for these accounts.
- Underwriting servicing actions including deferments, modifications, assumptions, changes of ownership, collateral releases, and subordinations.
- Analyze SBA servicing requests and provide loan decisions/recommendations based on a review of all necessary
- Prepare and submit servicing requests to SBA via E-Tran or appropriate channels.
- Maintain documentation necessary to preserve the SBA guaranty.
- Ensures timely processing of SBA servicing requests and consistently meets department performance standards.
- Prepare SBA purchase packages and ensure timely submission
- Customer & Internal Communication
- Serve as primary point of contact for servicing-related borrower requests.
- Communicate loan status and risk updates to management.
- Partner with lenders, underwriters, and credit teams on servicing strategy.
- Provide guidance on SBA eligibility and servicing requirements
- Assist in internal and SBA audits and examinations.
- Ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- · Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in accounting, finance, or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
- · Minimum 3-7 years SBA credit and GGL government loan guarantee program experience preferred.
- · Understanding credit policy & procedures; ability to accurately risk-rate credit; and evaluate cash-flow and collateral based loans.
- · Independently research, organizational skills, detail oriented and ability to multi-task.
- · Ability to work independently in a team-oriented environment.
- · Actively contributes to ongoing process improvement.

SBA Servicing Manager

This role is responsible for the ongoing servicing, monitoring, and risk management of SBA loan portfolios, primarily focused on SBA 7(a) loans. This position ensures compliance with SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), monitors loan performance, mitigates risk, and protects the SBA guaranty through proper servicing and documentation. The role works closely with borrowers, credit administration, underwriting, and senior management to proactively manage portfolio risk while delivering exceptional client service. Communicate directly with borrowers to resolve issues and provide updates.

- · Prepare and submit monthly 1502 reporting to FTA.

Qualifications
- · Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or related field preferred.
- · 3–7+ years of SBA loan servicing or portfolio management experience.
- · Direct experience with SBA 7(a) Servicing strongly preferred.
- · Working knowledge of SBA SOP and E-Tran systems.
- · Proficiency in Excel and Word
- · Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to create process and procedures.
- · Experience handling workouts, modifications, and SBA purchase packages preferred.
- · Knowledge of loan documentation and credit agreements.
- · Strong organizational time management skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to quickly grasp concepts and processes with limited guidance from management.
- · Must be able to work in a team environment with the ability to interact well, and in a positive manner, with co-workers and management.
